P is for Prevention

One of the mind shifts needed in modern health is to find ways to be more proactive. It's time to dedicate more of our own dollars and resources to prevent disease.

It requires a shift in our thinking to pay of pocket for counseling,  massage,  yoga classes, a nutritionist or to spend money on high quality whole foods. Yet these are ways we feel better, avoid illness and stay healthy.  Pay now, or pay later.

Research clearly shows our lifestyle habits can influence the onset of costly ongoing health problems. It also shows treatments and medical care costs continue to rise.

The body has an incredible capacity to restore & repair when given the chance.
There are a variety of online courses to learn about prevention.
There are free apps for mindfulness, group exercise and mental health.
So many offerings all available at low cost online, and youtube.

HERE'S SOME PLACES TO START:
These preventative practices can help restore health and vitality.

  • Get help to stop smoking and limit alcohol

  • Prioritize Sleep & Rest

  • Practice Meditation, Yoga, Massage, Breathe work.

  • Eat nutrient-rich foods, consult with a nutritionist, or coach, take cooking classes, learn about food.

  • Maintain a healthy microbiome by eating a diversity of fiber- rich plant food, improve hydration, and getting out in nature.

  • Stay connected with others and keep moving - and get out in nature, walking, hiking, or outdoor games.

We CAN support our innate immune system to stay healthy and free of disease. Prevention is key.
